Fairyland v/s Real world

‘And they lived happily ever after’ an unrealistic quote that every fairy-tale has in the end. No one can live happily ever after. I mean how is it possible that, for 16-18 years of life a girl is trapped in a castle by a witch  or serving her foster mother and sisters , and then comes the very famous ‘prince charming’ who fights for her and there’s some drama and then they live happily ever after i.e. with no problems at all!

Yes, I know that’s why these are called “fairy-tales” and since childhood we have been reading and listening to them. And somewhere or the other everyone (girls specifically) believes that there will come a time when we will live happily ever after. Now that’s never going to happen then why do we have to create this myth that a prince charming will come and save you from any situation and that he will surely win.

In the real world a damsel in distress cannot survive. Leave fighting the evil, in real life even if a jerk is harassing a girl in public hardly anyone is bothered to help at that time. So why give a false impression to the children that life is full of rainbows and butterflies and people will always be there to help when it’s not that way!

Fairy tales do invoke positivity about life and I am not ignoring that and who doesn’t like listening to such stories but they are very differing from the reality which is fighting for your rights, being self-dependent, studying and making your career instead of moaning and waiting for a guy to come and save you and why is it so that in every fairytale the guy has to be a rich prince or a frog who’ll turn into a handsome prince?!

Today more than one fourth of the globe is below the poverty line and those who are above the line are striving hard to survive the inflation that is rising at a high pace, who the hell can expect to meet a prince?!  Moreover it is not necessary to be beautiful or handsome to have a love story; good looks are overrated in fairy-tales. I feel fairy-tales portray a false fantasy which is very far from the actuality so they should be modified with a tint of reality.
