Viscous Virtual Circle

There is too much of everything.

Too many movies and shows on Netflix.
Too many DIY tips & quotes on Pinterest.
Too many simple hacks on Facebook.
Too many food & dance videos on YouTube.
Too much art on Instagram.
Too many opinions on Twitter.
Too many diet plans on Fitness Pal
Too many answers on Google.
Too many part-time businesses on Etsy.
Too much 'news' on Whatsapp.

I am not sure if I need so much. So many ideas, so many solutions, so quickly. Whatever happened to searching for answers and the joy of finding them?

The world has become a weird place.

Nothing I do is special anymore. Nothing I create is original, and if it is, it won't remain original 5 seconds after I 'share' it with the 'world'.

I used to do it excitedly until a couple of years ago, not because I wanted to flaunt my skills but to reach out to the right audience and the right opportunities. Sometimes it has worked. And most other times, I just felt happy looking at some positive comments / likes.

I don't feel like doing it anymore. I don't feel like being a part of this circus anymore!
I still do post. Sometimes with the fear of losing what little I have managed to build after years of struggle with my writing & art (which still continues). And hardly ever out of a need to express.

What is it with people? Is your life empty? Why do you want to share all your feelings and experiences with others? Why do you want to express your opinions all the time? Is it because no one is actually looking, it's virtual and you can't see faces so it is easier to boast or to say your piece or to share your sadness or express joy?

How many times when you meet people in a group do you actually try to let them know how you feel? Wait... may be this is what it is? You want to let someone know how you truly feel, you want someone to get it.

But isn't it better to cultivate actual, real relationships in your life where a handful of real people will actually understand you, your thoughts, your intentions?
I mean I understand it takes more effort than just typing a post and hitting share. But the pay-off is wonderful.

This virtual audience, I believe, doesn't give a fuck. A few comments, a few likes, a few follows, a few views, they won't fill up the vacuum.

Sigh... The world has become a weird place. There is too much of everything.

From House to Home

23 Aug 2020

We are moving! I am so excited for the new house. To live here, to make new memories with him here. I really wish that this house is comfortable and does not have any major problems so we can stay here for longer than a year or two. Because one year seems so less to soak in all the good things it has in store for us.

This is a new experience for me, this settling into a house that I and he chose together. Bringing all of our belongings here. Arranging & allocating them to specific shelves, drawers, cupboards.

It feels amazing. This is like the good part of being independent.
Yes, being independent does have a not-so-greatly-enjoyable side too! Like paying bills / cooking and cleaning / planning & saving for early retirement because god knows I cannot be spending most of years of my life earning money (read as evil)!
Let me not digress... I was talking about the good part... I am excited!

23 Oct 2020

The house is still pretty great! The excitement is gone, but the appreciation has stayed. Just like a happy long-term relationship or marriage. It's comfortable, it's roomy enough, it lets me be, it's home now. :)

Unsung Heroes

I am 30. I cannot believe that it was NINE years ago that I made an account on Blogspot and wrote my first personal blog.

When I began, I remember being afraid to publish a post every time I wrote one. As if every person  on the face of this earth had subscribed to my blog and they would read my mind as soon as I published my thoughts here. Afraid that they would know how I think and judge me. I hated it... being judged. So much that I didn’t realise I was judging people to be judgemental until one day a friend in drunken state (both of us were intoxicated), tired of all my drama, said it to me.

They have stayed with me, her words. I don’t know if she knows it because we have never re-visited that conversation. What she said did not have an immediate impact on me, I didn’t change overnight. It was later, on some other occasion when I was engaged in my thoughts, miffed at a certain person and was having an argument with myself. A part of me was playing the devil’s advocate and then it uttered those words, which my friend, perhaps years ago, had expressed in frustration. Ever since then I use her statement to control my mind when it’s playing the victim card.

It makes me wonder, isn’t every person who loves you, knows you, cares about you... your guru or a god or a messenger of the Universe? They, unintentionally more often than not, help you become a better version of yourself. But how often do we reflect and allow ourselves to realise it?
I think if we did, we would put all the ‘babas’ and ‘gurus’ out of business.

It’s funny how in a world full of idols living and breathing around us, we are searching for them in the wrong places... in famous personalities. I think one should question oneself, what is it that I really want to worship?

Anyway...
Bloggie Doggie... thank you for being such a significant part of my journey all these years. Together we have grown and I hope that we will continue to explore my thoughts and help me know myself better.

How far are you willing to go in love?

After the 'butterflies-in-tummy' phase has gone by.

As far as it's beneficial?
As far as it does not change your individual value system?
As far as the compromises demanded seem reasonable?
As far as the risk taken seems worth enough?
As far as it makes you happy?
As far as possible?
As far as it lets you be with the person?
As far as it reassures that you will not die alone?

How far?

May be you only know after you have reached that far.
Until then you just walk.

Litterings

Just because you do a certain set of things for someone doesn't entitle you to be a receiver of similar favours from them.

Doing is a choice.
Expecting is a choice.
Accepting is a choice.
But being offered is not a choice. At least not for you. It is a choice that belongs to the person offering it.

Love. Everyone has their own version. Even two people who are in love with each other have different definitions.
For one love could be "I love you!" While for the other it could simply be "Why did you miss your breakfast?"
Sometimes the difference might cause slight friction. But most of the times, the existence of love is enough. Methods employed in pursuing, matter not much.

Meanwhile...
I am in a queue. Waiting to withdraw cash from an ATM booth.
Change. Everyone wants it. Not many wish to contribute for it.

When at home people are praising this step taken by the GOI of banning 500 &1000 Rs notes as it will subject to a lot of undisclosed income becoming accountable. But when in a queue to withdraw cash or deposit it, they curse the government for harassing the "Aam Aadmi".

It's a conundrum for me, perhaps the big players in this game of black money have successfully managed to hide their income still or were already aware of the upcoming declaration and made arrangements for the same. Or may be not.
But at least the small players will be caught.

I have a hard time trusting any of the politicians. Or the Government. However I have hopes. That there must be some good Samaritans working amidst them.

On going-long-distance.

Why are we so afraid of distance?
When someone goes, they leave you to yourself. So is it that we are really afraid of ourselves rather than the distance?

Perhaps yes.

When two people are in love, they occupy most of each other's time and thoughts, they get lost in each other. Distance between them creates a vacuum. Now, this vacuum can either be seen as a boon or a bane. It is idiosyncratic. Life is subjective. You become what you want to.

It's as easy to be happy as it is to be sad.

It's perfectly okay to miss them but it's imperative not to trivialize or squelch your own presence amidst their absence.

You must have read it somewhere, you need to be a complete person in yourself to love another person completely. You might have been a complete person when you fell in love. But today, after years, has that beloved taken away some part of you or have they added to your being? Do you still complete yourself?
This distance will shower you with all the answers you have been seeking. Even with some of those that you haven't contemplated yet.

Dots

The sky... what if someday it pulls me towards itself with a strong magnetic force. Opens its infinite arms and embraces me, engulfs me. I disappear. Completely. Within a moment.

Will it make them wonder?
Will it worry them?
Will it sadden them?

Yes. It will. But time will do its job and heal them all.

What will happen to me?
I will be lost.
May be in dark blankness
May be in bright emptiness.
No existence perhaps.
Period.
The end.
Silence. Forever.

No, I am not suicidal.
Just caught in a reverie.

...........

Your body is a temple. Treat it well.
Your indulgent mind is a monster. Tame it well.

...........

People come, people go.
You change. They change.
That's the law of the universe.

Every present has a past... and a future.
Past is a memory. Future is an illusion.
Present is what we have access to.
We can feel now. Only now.

............

A breath of fresh air.
A lingering hope.
A smile taking birth.
A piece of puzzle fitting in, perfectly.
An inspiration. A reason. A god.

...........

Do incomplete thoughts classify as thoughts?
Ummm... I think incomplete thoughts refrain you from looking deeper into yourself.
They are like.... ....................................... .......................................

You vs You

When you become your own enemy. When your mind starts weaving terrible nightmares and plays nasty games with you. When you know what is and what is not. but you cannot stop thinking. When you know it all - the cause, reason, effect and ramifications - and you still fail to convince your mind to stop the incessant torture.

I suppose, sometimes there is no escape. And we have to face the demons residing within us. Fight them.
You loathe yourself for being so unfair... to the people around you and to yourself. It's ugly, this war, this unrest, this chaos.
It's ugly and unnerving and insane. But you have to do it... for yourself, for your people. Because at the end, you know, these demons are not real. They are mere figments of your oppressive imagination.

Sigh...

It's funny... the relationship you share with yourself. It's the most mysterious one, the most enlightening one.

Long time, no see.

Time heals everything. Fresh deep wounds turn into scars of the past. And then the scars begin to fade as well. The pain goes away, only faint marks remain.

If you are lucky, you meet a certain someone, who knows the accurate methods of helping you heal in a less painful manner.
And if you are extremely lucky, you have more than just that one person, like a small gang of doctors working on you.

Times when you feel lost in all the new things that life has thrown at you.
Despite the excitement, happiness and contentment, you still miss something... Maybe what you miss is you. Because it's when things are out of order and life is in mess that you interact with yourself more and fathom yourself better. Maybe it's the chase you miss. Chasing your dreams.
Yes...
Living your dreams is an ecstatic feeling indeed. But when you are actually living it, you do miss the chase. You miss your journey.
Then... It's time to dream further. It's time to embark on a new journey.

The winter is good this year. The nights are chilly. I love cold. I love it when my skin wears millions of gooseberries. The air smells different, it feels good.

And...
Dear 2014,
Thank you for all that you have bestowed me with. The lovely places. The beautiful people. The learnings. The work. The love. I cannot be more grateful for it.
And for the bad experiences, the losses, the pain, the tears... I forgive you.
There are no qualms, no regrets.

Hoping 2015 to be as beautiful. :)

Moving on...
Love feels great. But it's too hard to not lose yourself in love. And that's a challenge, being in absolute love with someone while not forgetting to love yourself.
I like challenges. ;)

It is so important to share happy moments with your loved ones. With each one of them. And no, I don't mean special moments. I mean simple moments, like having a fruitful shopping with a friend or watching funny videos in a cafe with another. It is in these simple, silly moments that happiness dwells. Very quietly they weave your bonds stronger.

...............

And dreams... Dreams about accomplishing career milestones and traveling the world with your beloved. Dreams about making your parents proud and celebrating life with the same bunch of friends. Dreams about contributing to the world and taking from the universe. Dreams about knowing more and thinking less. And just dreams.

On love and change.

Yesterday I was at a cafe with two of my friends and a friend's friend.

We spoke about many things, philosophical and psychological.

The last discussion we had was on the existence of love and the longevity in relationships. We had to leave the discussion incomplete as I had to leave.

He (friend's friend) said love is a temporary phenomenon. I agreed then.
Then he said it does not exist. That reminded me of my younger self, who too believed the same.

I feel he has a set definition for love. So maybe as per his definition, love is a temporary thing. He said people change, and you might not respond to the change in your partner too favorably and eventually will fall out of love.

He said you love certain qualities in a person so when the qualities fade away, there is nothing left to that person. What will you love then? Because the person you loved does not exist anymore.

He so reminded me of myself. I was of the same belief system.

Have I changed? Yes.
Because I fell in love? No.

I have broadened my perception about love and change.

Change is inevitable.
I figured, there are two faces of change. There could be more. As of now I have discovered just two, in this context.
Okay so, the first is evolution and the second is death.

Say, there's a virtue in my partner that I thoroughly admire and adore.
With time, that virtue, say, evolves. Grows in intensity. I might be able to respond to this change positively. As the virtue still exists in him. Efforts will be required to deal with the increased intensity, but I will still do it because his basic quality remains constant.
Now say, his virtue that made me fall in 'love' with him has died in the course time. It has ceased to exist. What now? I don't think I will be able to love him. If I do, it will take a lot of hard work and coercing myself.

I believe, as of now, that it is the responsibility of a person in a relationship to be open to changes their partner undergoes, willingly or reluctantly. Along with being determined to not lose the quality that swept their beloved off their feet. You have to keep trying. You have to choose evolution over death. If you can't, then you better not expect your partner to 'fathom' you and 'adapt' to the new you.
It's a dual responsibility.
Yes, love is not easy. Not in the long run. The temporary nature pertains to the effortlessness that people believe should exist in love. But the truth is no relationship is effortless. Not even the one you have with yourself. Love is hard. Loving yourself is hard. Loving the same person all your life is hard.
I don't know if it makes you a great person if you dedicate all your love to a single soul, but it certainly makes you a good student of life because you learn toilsome and sapping lessons that nothing else, no one else can teach. And I would like to believe that each of these lessons will make you a better person along with making you fall in love with yourself and your partner more deeply.

He also said, loving someone is not like loving yourself. Because you don't have an option to not love yourself, to not accept the ever-changing mind of yours, Well okay, you do have an option but then life will be like hell.

I say yes, it is not like loving yourself. It is much more than that. It makes you much more than what you are or can be.

P.S.: I still don't know what love is and how to define it. Perhaps, it is undefinable. To me.

The war

It's a boring Saturday at work! I feel extremely lethargic today.

Anyway,
Being in a relationship changes your perception about a lot of things. It surprises you in many ways. You are appalled to see yourself doing things that seemed irrational and foolish when you were single. And if you are someone who entered the 'relationship phase' of life a little later, then you are going to have a hard time accepting the new you.

And yes, no matter how determined and adamant you were about not changing yourself for anyone, changes will engulf you. And fortunately, unfortunately, you will surrender to them.

This transformation is not going to be easy. Because you never needed one. But now something within you is welcoming this change.

You better get ready to be on a war with yourself!

Noon full of randomness

Today there's barely any work in office, which means I have enough time to do a proactive ad campaign and also work on a travel article. But I don't feel like working. It could be my laziness or the unrest that yesterday's office fiasco has created in my mind or both.

I just feel like lying on my bed and listening to music. Yes, that's all I want to do.

My today's playlist is full of soft, romantic music. Initially I was enjoying the feeling but now these songs are putting me to sleep. I should listen to some EDM.

Yesterday I made a big doodle after almost 25 days. It felt good.

Anyway, I had too much time to while away so I went on a survey in my studio. I asked my colleagues would they prefer to be with someone who is like them or someone who is the opposite.

Three out of five said they would be with someone who is not like them. They believe it's the spice of being so different that makes a relationship exciting. If two people are very similar, their relationship gets boring because there is nothing new to know. Whatever you like, your partner will also like. Whatever you dislike, they, too, will dislike. No fun.
One female said it is about being comfortable with the person. Opposite or not doesn't really matter.
And the last one says, "The person should like me, I don't care about anything else."

What I could gauge from this little research is that no one strongly propagated being with someone who has similar interests and perspective. Some were neutral and the rest voted for 'opposites-attract'.

Perhaps it's the fear of monotony and the death of differentness. People are scared of boredom. And it's justified. Boredom is a negative emotion, I had read somewhere. I also believe, it is a doorway to numerous other negative emotions.

This doesn't mean I agree with the majority. Because sometimes it is the differences that kill a relationship.

Opposite or not, years down the line, you eventually know the person enough to not have any newness left to them. Excitement in a relationship is not restricted to contrasting choices and opinions. It is all in the head. You have to keep discovering new things all along the way. People keep changing so there always will be something new to know. Embrace those changes as newness.

It will benefit you in two ways:

  1. You will not complain about the changes your partner undergoes
  2. You will have an opportunity to rediscover them and your relationship

That's all for now.
I should work.

On girls and their friendships

This entire concept of 'BFF' has been a joke with me. I have never had a friend who has been my BFF. I do have long-running friendships, which I know are going to be there with me throughout my life. But I am talking about that one best friend who knows you better than yourself, who is a part of your everyday life, just like a boyfriend/girlfriend. You will always have other close friends, but you and her share a bond that is more special. And more than anything, it's not a temporary affair.

I have had my share of failed BFF-ships until I finally concluded that maybe I am not the kind of person who can maintain consistency in any sort of relationship. But this conclusion seems like a foolish excuse for escapism.
Perhaps, you don't want to take too many efforts to save a friendship because all other relationships - like with your family and partner - require enough struggle.
Why do we take our friendships so lightly?
(I have walked out on some of my good friends in the past, and there have been some who have abandoned me. So I am not removing my frustration on anyone here in this post.)

In my social circuit, there are a couple of examples, where I've seen two girls maintaining their best-friendship over years. Their ship has been successfully sailing through the sea of changing scenarios. Touch wood.
I had met two BFFs yesterday, and I was so happy to have them around. They share this great bond, which may have taken enough efforts, I'm sure, to be the way it is, but they did it, and maybe without even realizing that they have actually taken pains for the survival of this special bond.
When people say they have never had fights and arguments with their best friends, it is because they understood that it was unnecessary and unimportant.
The rest who have survived all the misunderstandings and disagreements, must be nurturing their friendship with sufficient reassurances, security, love and expression.

Well, I feel it's a mark of being a good human if you have a 'BFF' because this kind of bond, being platonic, has the least selfishness involved, neither is there an obligation of being related by blood.

When the inconceivable happens...

Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey is an incredible number
"Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere
Nothing scares me anymore."

In her shoes - the movie.

..........

They fell in love years back. They were not perfect, but they knew how to love each other perfectly. Years went by. The love remained the same, grew rather. Until 'change' came.
He met new people, he saw a new shade of life, he loved it, he changed. Because he wanted to.
She still stood there. Watching him become a stranger. Hoping it to be a plain phase. She waited long.
He was a different person now. It was the same old her.
She was helpless. They were supposed to be together 'forever' and he had simply vanished. There was this stranger disguised to be him, but it was not him.
He's not a bad person. He's not wrong or culpable.
She cried, yelped, prayed, feared... It's over.

How do you trust anyone after something like this happens? How do you trust anyone after knowing something like this can happen?

Being a mere spectator to this is so saddening and perturbing. I can't gauge the intensity of the pain and hurt she would be carrying in her heart right now. And, that he would, I believe, will go through at some given point of time in future.

Love is an illusion. Togetherness is a delusion. I was right in believing so.
.......

When no one succeeds in comforting you.
When no one manages to get even a faint smile on your face.
When no one cares enough for that little moment.
When no one makes you feel loved and wanted.
It's time you stop fretting about it and be there for yourself.
Only you can love you the way you've wanted to be loved.

Eagerly waiting for the exit of October heat and the mystical entry of the wonderous wintertide.

I wish...
Why do we wish so much!

Sigh...

It's Hot!
Thank God for the AC!

Okay so...
Those who say that you have changed and they don't need the new you in their life, never really knew you.
Life is divided into umpteen phases & those who stand by you in every of your phase, only know the true you.
The one who says, "You were an emotional & caring angel earlier and now you've turned into a carefree & outspoken bitch," is here to hamper your growth as a human.
Everyone has to see the bad side of life and if you become strong and not emotionally dependent on anyone, that's an achievement! If someone wants you to be an emotional sissy only so that they feel their own importance in your life, it's better to stay away from them. They define selfishness.
Perhaps they only loved those few qualities in you and not YOU, which is sad! Any person with such similar virtues will serve their purpose, it's not necessary for them that the person should be you.

Also...
No one will come to you when you sulk & brood. NO ONE. Put up a fake happy face and see how people will be hovering around you like bees.

Looking at the brighter side of life, I love my work.
Last week due to my laziness, some of my work had to suffer. I need to be careful about that bit.

And...
I still get those "You are so lucky" & "Your life is so sorted" reactions from those girls, who are in a relationship or had a bad one in the past.
Haha... it's funny!
At work, all I hear is boyfriend talk! Initially it was annoying because the girls had nothing else to talk about but now I've grown used to it.
One female from work said and I quote, "Once you start seeing someone, that relationship becomes the most important of all other relationships in your life, even your friendships, and you cannot help it. It happens with everyone. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be."
I couldn't agree more with her. And it's valid, love is an exciting emotion and it sets you free because you finally find that ultimate feeling of happiness. So for the person who is the source of this ultimate happiness, it's only fair to put them on a pedestal.

So long bloggy doggy. Thanks, I feel lighter!

I hate rains! ;) :P

Yes, I am a feminist! So... Is that a problem?! Umm... I don't think so ;)

'God is a girl'- an all time favorite!

'Promiscuous girl' by Nelly Furtado is on the radio. I guess it came out when I was in SYJC and me & one of my cousins were all gaga about it... I still like that number.
"It's okay, it's alright, I got something that you don't like..."
Back then, Nelly Furtado was all that I used to listen all day!

And the monsoon has begun....
Shew... finally, the summer is done with!!

Speaking of monsoon, just yesterday a friend popped up the same old mysterious question... 'Why are you single?'
Hahaha... okay so I've never understood how to answer that question and as far as I remember, each time, I've answered different
So yaa... we were talking about rains and I mentioned how I hate them, on that she said ' Once you get into a relationship, you'll love rains!' and I said 'Umm Okay!!!!'
This friend is not the first girl who has made this statement. A few of my other girlfriends had also said the same once...
Okay so let me make it clear, I hate rains but I don't hate monsoon! Meaning I hate the wetness, the dampness and the swamp about monsoon but I truly love the sweet and mellow fragrance of the soil embedded in the swirling monsoon breeze and of course, the floral greenery!! hmmmm.... I love that and what I love more is a stroll in such weather, PROVIDED it's not raining or even drizzling and the roads are not all that damp and swampy!!
Pretty complicated huh...that's why to make it short and avoid the excess blabber, I say I hate rains!
Anyway so,
these are the things that I like and dislike about monsoon and I don't think, I know that this will remain the SAME despite of what my relationship status is!!!
Phew...
Why do people make a big deal about singlehood?
To this, a friend answered, 'Because everyone around you is dating so being single really becomes a big deal!!'
Damn... it's ridiculously hilarious!

'You give the strength to me' - love the song!

New in town- nice movie :)

Fully Loaded!

Sheww!
Okay so... One day after ages I talk to people and interact a little and here I am loaded with behemothic & colossal amount of information to handle, out which some is supposed to be a secret!
Haha...  Ohhh Good God... it's really too much for me to handle... too many mixed emotions and feelings! I really tried to vent it all out by writing out all what I felt, everywhere possible because I couldn't say out loud but it still didn't leave my mind alone so here I am blogging it out!
I feel funny! I am just smiling and laughing in awe!
Shit man... Mr God is really awesome at his job of making life so damn unpredictable! I seriously can't stop laughing! The event that has happened is not even close to funny but I am finding it to be so! Only I know the reason (and Mr God, Of course)! ;) :P

Sigh... Everyone out there (and by everyone I mean EVERYONE) is looking for love or falling in love or making love! Haha.... No offense to anyone but I find it a little tickling! No, not that I am saying it's wrong or anything so don't get me wrong... just that everyone I've spoken to today since noon, has spoken on this subject or things that linger around this subject!

Man... It's like an overdose!
Either love and relationships are really over-rated by everyone or I under-rate them (at times)... One out of the two is certainly correct!

I did not study the entire day and I am feeling guilty about it because with the amount of portion left I should be licking my books and swallowing each word in them like crazy but unfortunately I am not doing it... nonetheless I shall do that now on...

Oh my! It was one mad day but now that it's gone I should concentrate on the eminently important thing i.e. my big exam!

To one of my super bestie... I love that you consider me SO important in your life and I also love to be prioritized (who doesn't!) ... so please continue doing that, okay!! Love you loads, always and forever!

It's been weeks and Adele has been on my playlist incessantly, love her voice!
So long bloggy doggy!

P.S.: I HATE SUMMER!! IT AGGRAVATES ME EVEN INDOORS!

I hate 'have tos'!

I've upgraded my blogger and yeah... it's different! I don't know in what way is this the "upgraded" version yet! Since I am not used to it, I am finding it too drab to work with!

Hmm,
So, long back when I revealed my love for writing to my bunch, they started teasing me saying "Soon you'll  be out with a book... blah..." and I used to laugh it off, giving them a "maybe".
Of course, I'd never contemplated about the idea of writing a book, earnestly... But, today I am certain about it! There is going to be no book!
Why? Well, I don't wanna state the reasons...
Also, writing is not only restricted to "books"! It's an art and it totally depends on your creativity, how you decide to play with it!

'Devil woman' by Cliff Richard :)
I heard this song from the movie Housefull 2 on the radio today, I don't remember the lyrics or the title of the song but it is some papa song. This song is a ghastly Hindi version of 'We speak no Americano' !! It hugely sucks! Man... it's such a disgrace to the awesome original one!

"Awareness without action is worthless" - Phil McGraw
Something that I need to understand and IMPLEMENT!

Just sometime back I read an article by Osho. He is the first spiritual Guru, whom I've heard, promoting live-in relationships for a few years before marriage. Dude... I've started respecting this man more! Whatever things I've read, that he has written, always make sense to me. There's really lot to learn from him! No doubt Badi Mummy devoted him so religiously!
I don't understand why our society hates the idea of 'live-in' relationships! I personally believe more in live-in than marriage! There are too many 'have tos' in a marriage! Like, you have to throw these stupid wedding parties, you (girls) have to leave your parents but he still has his folks by his side, you have to stick to that person even if you realize you never loved him/her or love just never happened (because divorce is looked upon with contempt in the Indian society), you (guys) have to give huge pin-money to the wives (they should be earning themself) etc. etc. One single stupid certificate adds on too much of burden! It's like this binding obligation, which you have to fulfill and you just have to get married to be accepted by the society!
I mean, why do you need a certificate to validate your relationship if you really love the person and if it's arranged marriage, you are stuck for the rest of your life (if at all true love never comes your way)?!

(Again very subjective and mostly unacceptable by all!!)
Gasp, me and my exceptionally liberated ideas, I hope we find OUR space in the real world too!
Anyway,
I have to study now!
(A month to go)
